2011 Reunion Concerts

Following the sucess of the two concerts in 2009 and in conjuction with the re-release of two Shave albums by Talking Elephant, the band is getting together at the beginning of February 2011 to play two gigs, one at High Barn in Essex and the other at Bridgwater in Somerset.

“We were delighted Talking Elephant got in touch to tell us that people had been asking for our CDs and subsequently agreed to re-release both Dragonfly and Mad Arthur”.

As in the 2009 concerts members that played throughout the bands history will be on stage.

"We will be playing music from each of our four albums, plus a few tracks that were never recorded. Come along if you can, it'll probably be the last time we all get together. We hope to see you there."

About Shave the Monkey

Shave the Monkey played together for fifteen years – but all good things must come to an end, so at the end of 2003, they decided to call it a day.
Shave the Monkey's influences came from many sources, including traditional, rock, early and classical music, as was evident in its unique style. Their command of over 20 instruments which spanned ten centuries, coupled with superbly crafted songs made what can only be called an electric performance.
Shave performed at many of Europe’s top festivals including Fairport Convention’s Cropredy Festival, Cambridge Folk Festival, Dranouter Festival in Belgium and Zwolle Folk Festival in Holland. When not performing at festivals the band was playing up and down the UK in folk clubs and art centres. Shave the Monkey also made several appearances on both radio and television.
During the fifteen years that Shave the Monkey was together the band recorded four albums at Woodworm Studios.
